Hi, my name is Cheri Hahn & I’m the owner of Redbuds and Ribbons. I live in a small town in Indiana, have an incredible husband, two beautiful kids & a 5-lb. dog that actually runs the household – not joking!
When I used to work outside the home, I was a Human Resources professional. I loved working with people & helping others. That’s one of the reasons I started this blog.
Crafting has been in my life since I was young. I’ve cross-stitched since I was probably 13… a long time ago! 😁I’ve messed around with doing different types of crafts all my life, but you know what held me back from going “all in” on one particular hobby or craft? I didn’t think I was “creative” enough – I felt I didn’t have ANY creativity. Well, things changed, but I’ll get to that in a minute.
After going through some health issues, both physical & mental, I decided I needed a new hobby to keep my mind off those health issues. One time, I was surfing the web & started looking at crafting blogs, including all this hype over a new cutting machine, yes, the Cricut. So I did a little bit of research & decided to buy my first Cricut. Everything changed when I hit that ‘on’ button!
After I got my Cricut, I studied & learned everything I could when it came to the Cricut machine & Design Space. Yes, it was frustrating, but I took almost every course I could find. I googled like never before EVERY-day ALL-day. I was so much in love with my Cricut machine that I wanted to share it with everyone! I wanted to connect with people & share our creativity.
Yes, creativity. Back to that… I changed my mindset about not being creative. I’ve learned that you can LEARN creativity. I’m an example of the more you “practice” creativity the better you get at it. Just try & it will come! (Doesn’t that sound like some movie?😊) This is about the time I started thinking about a crafting blog. Now that I’m an “empty nester” I have time on my hands that I can have fun crafting & helping others by sharing. It truly is a blessing that I can do both.
So I really don’t have this amazing story about my life. I’m just a regular person with a drive to help others, meet new people & craft! Two reasons I started this crafting blog; one, to keep my mind off my health & mental health issues by staying busy crafting things. And two, to help others through crafting. If there’s one person out there who is having mental or physical health problems & is willing to give crafting a try…this will all be worth it.
I hope you enjoy being here, so please, grab a cup of coffee, mimosa, or whatever your kick is & let’s have some fun learning, making new things & making new friends! 💕
You can either laugh about or relate to some of these fun facts about myself. If you are looking for my top things I can’t craft without, it is now on the “Resources” page along with some of my sign-up forms for free guides & the items I sell.
Fun Facts About Me
These are all stores, brands & products that I use for crafting. My craft room used to be a bedroom until I took it over! Then we re-did the whole room. My husband re-did the whole room! I just told him what I wanted & he made it happen! Love my hubby! He painted, new carpet, reconfigured the closet, & then started building things; like my work station & peg board. I really do love my craft room. But, doesn’t it always seem like you still run out of room for things? It doesn’t matter how big a craft room is; we always need more room! For now, everything has its own place, which I like making neat at the end of the day – for the most part – unless I’m in the middle of a project.
